Welcome to the SPY family Mason & Coco Ho

SPY-2017-PR-ATHLETE-COCO-1 SPY-2017-PR-ATHLETE-MASON-1

CARLSBAD, Calif.—SPY is happy to announce one of the surf world’s most prominent brother and sister duos, Mason and Coco Ho, are the latest wave riders to start seeing the world through its award-winning Happy Lens™ sunglasses. Hailing from one of the most notable and ripping families in surfing, Mason and Coco are well known for their incredible sense of humor and easy going attitudes that match the spirit SPY has been known for for more than two decades.

“Surfing has been a part of SPY’s DNA for more than 20 years. We were founded on the coast, and our commitment to the surf community remains strong to this day. Our legacy, along with Mason and Coco’s heritage in the surf world, makes them great ambassadors to represent SPY in and out of the water,” commented Andrew Thomas, SPY Marketing Manager.

As the offspring of one of the most legendary Hawaiian surfers, Michael Ho, it would have been easy for the pair to draft behind the legacy of their father or their uncle, the equally notable Derek Ho. Rather than rest on their family’s laurels, Mason and Coco have each worked hard to carve their own distinct and personal paths in professional surfing, representing their family’s name to the fullest in their own unique ways.

Mason has a larger than life personality that makes him a standout both in and out of the water. While he stands regular footed, Mason’s approach to surfing goes both ways, as he can regularly be seen appearing at professional tour stops and also in mind-blowing (and oftentimes hilarious) video edits.

“I’m honored to be a part of what SPY has going on. This is a brand with so much heritage in surfing and their support of Hawaii, with special edition sunglasses and other projects, makes them an even more awesome crew to be a part of,” commented Mason.

While Coco may share the same blood and regular stance as Mason, her approach to surfing is distinctly different. A sponsored surfer since age eight, Coco has been a dominant force in her heats for years. The fitness buff’s shining personality and intense drive have led to mainstream media featuring her on numerous occasions. Even though Coco’s style and vibe in the water are different than her brother’s, she still has the same stoke on becoming part of the SPY team.

“Life is all about being happy, and I’m stoked to be a part of SPY as that’s a huge part of their message in and out of the surf,” commented Coco.

Fans of the Ho clan can follow Mason’s exploits online via Instagram and connect with Coco online through her website at http://xococoho.com/ and Instagram. More information on the SPY team, as well as its special Hawaii edition versions of its Cyrus and Dirk sunglasses can be found on SPY’s website at www.spyoptic.com.

ERIC JACKSON DROPS IN WITH SPY’S HAPPY LENS

CARLSBAD, Calif.—The hard charging backcountry freestyle rider known as Eric Jackson—aka E-Jack—has officially started seeing happy as the latest member of SPY’s growing snow team. A well-respected rider with a plethora of video awards under his belt and an aggressive, confident style all his own, E-Jack will continue to lead progressive backcountry freestyle with a smile—and Happy Lens™ snow goggles—on his face.

After recently coming off of two injury plagued seasons that would cause almost any pro to hang it up, E-Jack returned to snowboarding with a renewed work ethic and positive mental focus that has paid significant dividends. In addition to his mind blowing parts in “The Fourth Phase” and “Good Look,” E-Jack has received a handful of major accolades, including Men’s Video Part Of The Year in TransWorld Snowboarding’s Riders Poll, bronze at the X-Games Real Snow Backcountry event, and a spot on SNOWBOARDER Magazine’s Top Ten Riders of the Year list in 2017. E-Jack’s accolades seem to be growing almost as fast as his beard.

“I’m hyped to be a part of what SPY has going on right now. These guys are pushing the best tech and design for charging on the snow and chilling when the boots come off. From the quick-change system on the Doom to the all-terrain awesomeness of the new Hunt sunglasses, I couldn’t be more stoked to have the Happy Lens as a part of my daily kit,” says E-Jack.

“We’re happy to welcome E-Jack to the SPY program,” adds Andrew Thomas, SPY Snow Marketing Manager. “His personality truly reflects his riding and is a great fit for the brand— fun, bold, confident and uniquely creative. Working with Eric is a good time, and I’m excited for him to See Happy in his snow goggles, fishing sunglasses and even his prescription frames.”

E-Jack’s technical prowess goes well beyond his creative lines on the mountain. When his feet aren’t strapped into his bindings, he can often be found with his banjo hanging around his neck, which many had the opportunity to hear during his recent X-Games Real Snow part. E-Jack’s love for the outdoors doesn’t end when the snow melts, as shown via his Instagram feed, featuring almost as many shots of him with a line in the water as shots of his board in the pow.

E-Jack joins a growing crew of notable snowboarders and skiers to back the Happy Lens on snow, including Chris Rasman, Helen Schettini, Mike Gray, Phil Casabon, Ahmet Dadali and Wiley Miller.

See Happy with SPY’s Wiley Miller in India

SPY looks at life through a Happy Lens™.

“Pro skier Wiley Miller visits Gulmarg, India to explore the Kashmirian Himalayas and capture footage for his annual film segment. When he gets to India, however, he finds warm temps, mediocre snow conditions and a heavy military presence near the border of India and Pakistan. He soon realizes that this ski trip will be anything but normal.

It doesn’t take long for Wiley to uncover an entirely different culture of skiing as he bonds with locals via the universal language of sliding on snow.”
